GinvivalrecontouringGingival re-contouring is a procedure that is done to reposition the gum tissue, typically to expose more tooth structure. Sometimes this can be completed by just removing soft (gum) tissue, but typically involves reshaping the underlying bone to give the gum tissue profile desired. Patients who smile and reveal a lot of gum tissue (gummy smile) can have this corrected by gingival re-contouring.
