Standard dental care focuses on overall oral health through the prevention and treatment of various conditions, diseases, and disorders of the teeth, gums, and mouth. Cosmetic dentistry is more concerned with the aesthetics of your teeth and gums and focuses on each patient’s personal wants and needs leading to a beautiful smile.

Seeing a dentist regularly is important to maintaining your oral health. Problems like cavities are much easier (and cheaper) to treat if caught early as opposed to a decayed tooth that may require a root canal or tooth extraction.

Regular visits can also help prevent periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection in the tissues that support your teeth and can go unnoticed if no symptoms present but will be seen by your dentist. But having healthy teeth doesn’t mean you’ll love your smile.

Cosmetic dentistry is a science of balance and beauty and goes far beyond teeth whitening. It can help with a wide variety of aesthetic issues like teeth that are chipped or cracked; as well as fix gaps and misshapen teeth. Bleaching, composite resin, and veneers are a few of the ways dentists are able to achieve more aesthetically pleasing smiles. With several advances in technology, cosmetic dentistry is no longer just for celebrities. Now, anyone can have a picture-perfect smile!
